A man armed with a pistol was left red-faced after a botched robbery that left him running out of cash.
He walked into a Circle K gas station in Tallaght this afternoon just before 4 p.m. and demanded cash from staff.
But despite his best efforts, no cash was handed out and he left the scene with nothing.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the botched robbery and Gardai confirmed that investigations into the incident are continuing.
A Garda spokesperson told Dublin Live: “Gardaí is investigating an attempted robbery at a gas station in the Balrothery area of Tallaght that occurred today at approximately 3:50 pm.
“It is reported that a solitary man entered the premises armed with an apparent firearm and demanded cash. No cash was delivered and the man left the place. There were no injuries.
“Investigations continue.”
