A man has been charged in connection with a car theft incident in the city of Dublin yesterday.
Gardai was alerted to the attack around 10:30 a.m. when a lone man approached a woman in her 40s in a garage on the East Wall.
The man is said to have threatened the woman with a knife and demanded her car keys before driving off in the woman’s vehicle.
The same car was intercepted shortly thereafter on the N3 by Gardai following a “managed containment operation” by officers from the ASU and Highway Police Units.
Once detained, Gardai arrested a man in his 40s who was questioned at Store Street Garda Station before being charged in connection with the kidnapping.
A Garda spokesperson told Dublin Live that “investigations are ongoing.”
