In an earlier incident in the area around 12:45 a.m., two vehicles, a silver Audi and a red Renault Traffic van, crashed into each other as part of an altercation.

But when Gardai responded, they said “there were no complaints”.

The Gardai took the two vehicles away for a forensic examination, but around 3.50 am, the Gardai were alerted to an incident of public order and assault.

There, the boy was found unconscious on a public road and CPR was administered.

He was then taken by ambulance to Naas General Hospital, but was sadly pronounced dead.

Gardai issued appeals for information on the movement of the silver Audi A4, with a registration of 09CN6292 and for anyone with information on anything related to any of the incidents.

Fine Gael Cllr Brendan Wyse told the Irish Sun: “If any residents noticed unusual activities Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday morning, including vehicle sightings described by Gardai, please contact them.”
