The homes of Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell and Democratic Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi have been covered in graffiti, fake blood and a pig’s head, US media reported.
“Were [sic] my money “and” Mitch kills the poor, “was painted on McConnell’s door and window in Louisville, Kentucky.
A pig’s head and fake blood were left outside Pelosi’s San Francisco home yesterday, according to local media.
The houses were attacked after an intense debate over a Covid-19 stimulus bailout for Americans.
A long-awaited $ 900 billion pandemic aid package was finally approved on Christmas Eve, and the Democrat-led House of Congress approved an increase in aid from $ 600 to $ 2,000.
But the Republican-led Senate has not approved the increase, despite furious calls from President Donald Trump to do so.
On Wednesday, McConnell had told reporters: “The Senate will not be bullied into giving more loaned money to rich friends of the Democrats who don’t need help.”
Kentucky Metro Police said the incident occurred around 5 a.m. local time yesterday, according to local news channel WAS11. It was unclear if anyone was home at the time.
McConnell called the graffiti a “radical tantrum” and added: “Vandalism and the politics of fear have no place in our society.”
In San Fransisco, Ms. Pelosi’s garage door was sprinkled with a crossed out “$ 2K”, followed by “Cancel the rent!” and “We want everything!”
The Special Investigations Division of the city police was investigating the incident, NBC News reported.
