MORE 3,576 people have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in Northern Ireland in the past two days.
Authorities also confirmed this afternoon that 26 more people with the virus have died, including one death that took place before the last 48 hours.
Northern Ireland generally publishes figures on a daily basis, but the data was not released yesterday, leading to an increase today.
A strict lockdown introduced on St. Stephen’s Day is slightly relaxed from today.
While many non-essential retail establishments and services remain closed, the curfew has been lifted.
The PSNI said that despite the strict restrictions in place, New Year’s Eve was a “busy night.”

Around £ 26200 fines were issued, 34 ban notices regarding partiers and two penalty notices were issued to companies that failed to abide by the restrictions, a statement details.
