Today an autopsy is being carried out at CUH and after that, Gardai will decide in which direction the investigation goes.
Reuben was found shortly after 4 p.m. Friday after his family became concerned that they had not heard from him for a few days.
He was pronounced dead at the scene before being taken to the hospital for an autopsy.
The house was sealed when Gardai launched an investigation.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí is investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man’s body in Bishopstown, Cork, on Friday January 1, 2021.”
“Gardaí was called to a residence on Curraheen Drive in Bishopstown shortly after 4 pm, where family members discovered the body of a man in his 40s. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter.
“The man’s body will be transferred to the morgue at Cork University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination is expected to take place tomorrow.
