Applications for PUPs must be made online through www.MyWelfare.ie to ensure payment is made as quickly as possible.
Today, the Government reintroduced the Level 5 restrictions of the Plan to live with Covid across the country. These restrictions take effect at midnight on the 30thth December and will remain in place until 31S t January 2021.
The measures that are taken will have an impact on the economic life of the country and, consequently, people whose jobs are affected by the restrictions can benefit from income support through the Pandemic Unemployment Payment during the period in which they are jobless.
Minister Humphreys said:
Today’s decision by the Government reflects the seriousness of the situation we are currently facing. I recognize that this decision will have an impact on people’s livelihoods and that is why I want to remind people who have lost their jobs to apply for PUP income support. The quickest and easiest way to do this is online at www.MyWelfare.ie
The minister continued:
I have put arrangements in place to ensure that those requiring PUP income support, provided they are eligible, receive it as soon as possible.
30 people who have become unemployedth December and submit your application online before 5 pm on the 31stS t December will receive a payment on Tuesday 5ththJanuary once they are eligible.
People who are diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus or who need to self-isolate and are medically certified by their doctor, also have the option to apply for the Enhanced Sickness Benefit online at www.MyWelfare.ie.
