Health officials today announced 1,546 new cases of the coronavirus in Ireland.
That brings the total number of cases in the country since the pandemic began to 88,439.
There have also been nine more deaths from COVID-19 in the country.
So far 2,213 people have sadly lost their lives as a result of the disease.
The HSE is working to identify any contacts that patients may have had to provide them with information and advice to prevent further spread.
The COVID-19 Dashboard provides up-to-date information on key COVID-19 indicators in the community.
Of the cases reported today:
- 757 are men / 788 are women
- 66% are under 45 years of age
- The average age is 34 years.
- 444 in Dublin, 203 in Cork, 111 in Louth, 87 in Limerick, 85 in Donegal, and the remaining 616 cases are spread across all other counties.
As of 2:00 p.m. today, 411 patients with COVID-19 are hospitalized, of which 34 are in the ICU. 47 additional hospitalizations in the last 24 hours.
