COVID-19 Vaccine Ireland: The Complete Vaccine Implementation Schedule, Who Gets It First And When The Average Person Will Receive It

The launch of the COVID-19 vaccine began today in Ireland with a 79-year-old grandmother who received the vaccine.

Annie of Liberties in Dublin announced the beginning of a new era in Ireland’s response to COVID-19.

And with all eyes on the vaccine today, many people will wonder when they will roll up their sleeves and get the vaccine.

Here’s an easy rundown of when you can expect to be vaccinated in 2021 based on what age group you are in.

Note that in RTE’s Morning Ireland this morning, Vaccine Task Force Professor Brian MacCraith said: “It will all depend on the success of the companies’ manufacturing, delivery schedules.

“But certainly, if all things happen, one would be looking at that [August]. “

Launch of the vaccine in Ireland

Who goes first and when will the average person get it?

The first four groups of people prioritized in the plan are;

* Adults over 65 years of age in long-term care centers.

* Front-line healthcare workers in direct contact with patients.

* Adults over 70 years old.

* Other health workers who are not in direct contact with patients.

Once Ireland’s front-line and vulnerable healthcare workers are vaccinated, the plan will be to move to the general public, prioritizing older people.

So who’s next?

* Adults 65 to 69 years old.

* Key workers (not yet clearly defined).

* Vulnerable adults ages 18 to 64 with medical conditions.

* Long-term care center residents ages 18-64.

* Adults between 18 and 64 years old who live in crowded accommodation.

* Key workers in essential jobs who cannot avoid high risk of exposure.

* Those that are essential for education.

So if you’re not in the vulnerable category, you’re not a front-line worker, and you don’t have an “essential job,” then you’re next.

* Adults 55 to 64 years old.

* People in third level institutes, entertainment industries and production of goods.

* Adults ages 18 to 54 who have not yet received the vaccine.

* Children, adolescents up to 18 years of age and pregnant women.
