France midfielder Romain Ntamack looks set to miss the start of the Six Nations after sustaining a double broken jaw, while Ireland will face Les Bleus in the second round of action in mid-February.
The 21-year-old, a key player for France and a one-try scorer in October’s win over Ireland, suffered the injury during Toulouse’s match with Bordeaux in the French Top 14 on Sunday.
He has to undergo surgery and said he would be out for “a few weeks.”
He wrote on Twitter: “After a blow to the jaw in the first half of the match between Toulouse and Bordeaux, the exams show a double jaw fracture. I will have to undergo surgery and be off the field for a while. Few weeks. “

Ntamack was nominated as the Player of the Championship for the 2020 tournament, but was lost to French medium Antoine Dupont, who also scored a try against Ireland in the October match.
Ireland hosts France on February 14, eight days after the French began their Six Nations campaign in Italy.
