Ruth O’Sullivan described her joy in welcoming the world of the Christmas miracle Evie this Christmas.
Fri, who weighs just over eight pounds, was delivered at 7:18 am this morning (Friday) at the University of Cork Maternity Hospital, three days late to Mother Ruth and Father Shane, from Ballincollig.
Ruth said it was an easy delivery for Evie and she got an extra boost when she got to motherhood.
“We didn’t think Shane would be allowed in, but today they allowed partners in. That is probably the first time they have allowed partners in since the beginning of the pandemic, ”Ruth said.
Ruth confirmed that baby Evie was the best Christmas present she had ever received.
The Rotunda welcomed one of the first Christmas babies of 2020 when baby Fiadhan Brant came into the world at 4:04 a.m.
Fiadhan, who weighed 8lb 5oz, was born to parents Isolde Sheridan and Andrew Brant of Charlestown, Finglas.
Fiadhan was followed shortly after at 4:30 am by the girl Anasthia Christina Cioponea.
Anasthia weighed 7lb 2oz upon arrival and is the pride and joy of mother Nadeja Cioponea and father Alexandru Daniel from Coolmine, Dublin.
