Woodie’s owner, Grafton Group, has purchased Proline Architectural Hardware, a distributor of iron door products.
Roline posted revenue of 10.8 million euros last year.
The Inchicore-based company specializes in supplying a range of high quality traditional and contemporary architectural hardware products, including door locks, hinges and handles.
The company works closely with architects on the specification and programming of hardware products for commercial, public sector and residential projects, according to a statement from the Grafton Group.
Gavin Slark, Grafton’s chief executive, said the acquisition was in line with the company’s strategy of acquiring “high-quality, specialized companies trading in complementary markets.”
“Proline will bring expertise to Grafton in the architectural hardware distribution segment in Ireland,” said Slark.
“It will also allow us to offer a broader range of products and services and expand our customer base in this market segment,” he added.
Termination of the agreement is subject to approval by the Irish Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
Davy analysts said the full Grafton acquisition is “reasonably small and will add less than 1% to the group’s revenue.”
“However, it shows continued confidence to deploy capital in a recovering market following the acquisition of StairBox announced earlier this month,” Colin Sheridan and Flor O’Donoghue said in a note.
Earlier this month, Grafton bought AVC, which is listed as StairBox, for 44 million pounds (49 million euros).
StairBox is a British manufacturer and distributor of wooden stairs.
Grafton will pay £ 44 million in cash and debt-free, including £ 4 million (€ 4.5 million) which is deferred until November 2022.
Founded in 1994, StairBox has developed an innovative software application that enables customers to easily design, view and price stairs on their website, according to a statement from the Grafton Group.
The Grafton Group is listed in around 530 branches and has approximately 11,200 employees.
Its portfolio of brands includes Selco, Buildbase, Leyland SDM, MacBlair and CPI EuroMix in the UK, as well as Chadwicks and Woodie’s in Ireland and Isero and Polvo in the Netherlands.
