Brilliant images have emerged of the Dublin players’ dressing room celebrations at Croke Park, including the clean-up effort as they left the spotless venue to lose their win over Mayo.

A five-minute long video of the moments after they achieved a historic six-in-a-row victory over Mayo shows the players masked and sweeping the floors of Croke Park, reports Dublin Live

The brilliant footage came after Sunday Game host Des Cahill took to Twitter to show fans what happened when he asked Croke Park Stadium manager Peter McKenna for some stories from the Irish final.

Des Cahill said: “Before the #SundayGame, I asked Croke Park Stadium Director Peter McKenna if there were any #AllIrelandFinal incidents or stories between #Dublin and #Mayo – This was his response …”

Peter McKenna’s reply read: “Hi Des, a little for the show tonight. The Dublin team cleared the dressing room before leaving last night. This had never happened before. Very attentive to cleaners and others who were waiting to give you back for today. Humility is the mark of great champions. “

But despite the claim that this is the first time, it seems that cleaning the locker room is an annual tradition. A celebration of last year’s five straight games showed Stephen Cluxton sweeping as his teammates celebrated around him.
