Several areas across the country have seen an increase in the number of new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, including some smaller regions.

The Health Department announced tonight that 527 more people in Ireland have tested positive for coronavirus, while five more deaths were confirmed.

Dublin was again the worst affected area with 191 new cases, followed by Cork with 54.

Donegal reported 44 more infections, but there were also 32 in Wexford and 27 in Kilkenny.

And Dr. Tony Holohan, CMO, has said that the new statistics are of “constant concern.”
