Gardai rushes to the scene as six young men are rushed to the hospital after the horrific Offaly accident

Six young men were rushed to hospital after a terrible accident in Co Offaly.

The incident occurred at Gorteen Bridge in Killeigh, on the Co Laois border.

Four men in their 20s were traveling in a car when it collided with a jeep at around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday.

All four were taken to Tullamore General Hospital with serious injuries.

While a man and a woman who were in the jeep, both teenagers, were also rushed to the hospital.

It is understood that your injuries are not life threatening.

A garda spokesman said: “A technical examination will be carried out later today. The road remains closed with local detours in place.”

A spokesperson for AA Roadwatch added: “The local Clonaslee / Tullamore Rd is closed at Gorteen Bridge following a serious collision overnight. There are local detours in place.”
