Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta believes his team ‘shot themselves in the foot’ while drew 1-1 with Southampton at the Emirates.
The Gunners fell behind in the 18th minute when former player Theo Walcott scored.
The Englishman was sent on goal with a great pass from Che Adams.

He dispatched the opportunity with a delicious chip on Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang raised his team’s level in the second half when he scored for the first time in a long time.
Bukayo Saka did well to outmaneuver several Saints players, before handing the ball to teammate Eddie Nketiah. He played on Aubameyang, who sent the shot past Alex McCarthy.
Arsenal were reduced to 10 men soon after when Gabriel Magalhaes collected a second yellow card for his challenge to Walcott.
That meant another red card for Arteta’s men, which is proving to be a big problem for the Spaniard.
Speaking after the game, Arteta said: “We didn’t have time to think, we adjusted two or three things to try and win the game. The boys came out like we did three days ago, we scored a very good goal, up in the game, and again we shot ourselves in the foot.
“Aubameyang needed that confidence boost, he’s very critical of himself, hopefully he can move and be more optimistic in the future.”
When asked about Gabriel’s red card, Arteta said: “Very (disappointed) because at the time I was thinking about changing the center back right away, we didn’t even have time to do that.
“In the end we reached a point that considering the circumstances we have to accept.”
