Irish presenter Laura Whitmore has announced that she is expecting her first baby with her partner Iain Stirling.
On Instagram, the Bray native shared a photo of a Guns N’Roses baby crop that says ‘it’s coming in 2021.’
She captioned the post: “I have always tried to protect the personal side of my life. Many things are only for me and my loved ones and we have chosen not to share them publicly.
“Now I want to share some good news though, as this is our news to share, and I’ll be honest, it starts to look like my beer belly is out of control.
“Iain and I are expecting a baby in early 2021. It has been difficult to keep such happy news a secret. Especially at the times when I had to run out of live radio to get sick in a bin or my fondness for a bowl of mash of potatoes in the morning.
“He wasn’t hungover like everyone thought. In fact, he was completely sober filming the entire Celeb Juice series, which is quite a compliment!
“We would appreciate our privacy being respected, but we just wanted to convey a little love and a reminder of the beauty of life.”
Friends and fans flocked to the comment section to congratulate the couple on their news.
Dermot O’Leary said: “The best news. Congratulations x “
Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffat wrote: “Congratulations to both of you, honestly you will be the most wonderful parents xxxx.”
While Love Island’s Demi Jones commented: “OMG congratulations”
The hilarious Iain also posted a snap on Instagram to share the news and didn’t miss the opportunity to make a joke.
He shared a picture from his game consoles with the caption, “Sorry for my old babies, but there’s a new baby coming early 2021.”
This news comes when the couple reportedly married secretly last month at Dublin City Hall.
According to The Sun, Laura and Iain, a native of Bray, married in front of 25 guests, which was the maximum allowed under Ireland’s level five rules at the time, and included Laura’s half brother Adam and sister of Iain, Kirsten, as witnesses.
The presenter took to Twitter today in what appears to be a vague response to these reports.
She wrote: “A little thought about the day … If I ever have personal news that I want to share, I will be the one to share it.”
A source told the outlet: “Iain and Laura are so in love that they really wanted to get married as soon as possible.
“Even though the circumstances weren’t ideal, it was a very romantic day.”
The couple opted to keep the news private after returning to the UK, but eagle-eyed fans spotted Iain wearing a wedding ring when he appeared on the special episode ‘Loose Men’ of ITV’s ‘Loose Women’ to commemorate on International Men’s Day at the end of last month. .
Iain, who has voiced ‘Love Island’ since its release in 2015, met Laura at an ITV party in 2016, but they didn’t start dating until the summer of 2017.
Laura later revealed that she had secretly visited Iain while filming ‘Love Island’ in 2017, when she said: We tried to keep it as quiet as possible at first.
“I remember going to Mallorca and not telling anyone, even though I know most of the crew.
“If someone had seen me, they would say, ‘What the hell is Laura doing here?’ I thought no one knew, but it turned out that everyone did. At the time I was like, ‘We got away with it.’
“We were together for four or five months before posting something on our social media.
“I think at the time we were both like, ‘Should we own this?’ And then once you post it, nobody gives a shit. People only care when they don’t know something. “
