Expert asks for patience since most of the blows can be delayed until next summer

The release of a Covid-19 vaccine to the general population is unlikely to occur until well into the middle of next year, a leading scientist said.

Professor Kingston Mills, from Trinity College’s School of Biochemistry and Immunology, said: “People will have to be patient.”

Question marks are still looming over the supply of Covid-19 vaccines that will be available here next year with the potential for significant periods when injections are not available.
