Gardai interrogates a woman after an alleged acid attack at a Dublin takeaway store last night.
Previously, we reported how three girls had to be rushed to hospital after the terror attack at The One Asian Kitchen on Square in Tallaght.
The incident occurred around 8pm last night, when a woman claiming to be in her 30s walked into the popular fast food joint and allegedly threw what has been described as an “acidic” substance at the young women who work there. .
Two of the three young women, all in their teens and early 20s, have since been discharged, Gardai revealed tonight. However, a girl continues to receive treatment for her injuries.
A Garda spokesperson said in a statement: The Gardaí in Tallaght is investigating a serious assault that occurred at a take-out store in The Square Tallaght, last night, Sunday, December 14, 2020 at approximately 8 p.m.
“A woman (in her 30s) entered the store and threw a substance at several women behind the counter.
“All the women (between teens and 20s) were taken to Tallaght University Hospital and one woman remains in hospital at this time, the other two women have been discharged.”
A woman in her 30s was arrested around 10 p.m. last night, Gardai said, adding that investigations are ongoing.
She is being questioned at Tallaght Garda Station, where she is detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Popular take-out food remains closed after the attack as its owners seek to increase security.
However, they said tonight that they would reimburse all those who had placed orders prior to the incident.
They added: “For those dear customers who paid but did not receive their order last night, a refund will be issued using the original payment methods.”
