Liverpool will face Manchester United’s Champions League conquerors RB Leipzig in the round of 16 next year.

Jurgen Klopp’s side, which topped Group D in Europe’s premier club competition, will meet the German team that beat United 3-2 last week to claim a knockout stage spot.

Manchester City will also face Bundesliga opposition in the form of Borussia Monchengladbach, while the other remaining Premier League representatives Chelsea will face Atlético de Madrid.

Arguably the tie for the round is Barcelona-Paris St Germain.

The French side were finalists last season but will have bad memories of facing Barça in 2017, when their 4-0 lead in the first leg was annulled in a dramatic 6-1 defeat at Camp Nou.

Reigning champion Bayern Munich will face Italian Lazio, while Cristiano Ronaldo returns to his native Portugal with Juventus to face Porto.

Tottenham have faced Wolfsberger in the round of 16 of the Europa League.

José Mourinho’s team will travel to Austria in February after having won Group J.

Manchester United will head to Real Sociedad for the first leg of their last 32 matches after United were eliminated from the Champions League last week.

Arsenal will play Benfica and Mikel Arteta’s team topped Group B.

Rangers will play Royal Antwerp, and Steven Gerrard’s team won Group D ahead of Benfica.
Leicester met Slavia Prague in the round of 16 and will travel to the Czech Republic for the first leg.

  • Borussia Moenchengladbach v Manchester City
  • Lazio v Bayern Munich
  • Atlético Madrid v Chelsea
  • RB Leipzig v Liverpool
  • Porto v Juventus
