Three deaths and 313 new confirmed cases in Ireland

MORE 313 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Ireland, the National Public Health Emergency Team said tonight.

In a statement, it said that three other people who were confirmed to have Covid-19 had died.

The death toll from Covid-19 in Ireland is 2,120, and the total number of confirmed cases is now 75,507 *.

The 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 population in the entire country is 81.2. There are 11 counties with incident rates per 100,000 higher than the national average: Donegal (230), Kilkenny (195), Louth (160), Carlow (156), Monaghan (138), Limerick (125), Wicklow (117) , Longford (115), Mayo (99), Dublin (91) and Waterford (81.8).

As of 2:00 p.m. today, 197 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 35 are in the ICU. There have been 12 additional hospitalizations in the last 24 hours.

Of the cases reported today:

  • 144 are men and 169 are women
  • 67% are under 45
  • The average age is 35 years.
  • 70 in Dublin, 31 in May, 21 in Kilkenny, 19 in Donegal, 18 in Laois and the remaining 154 cases are distributed in another 19 counties.
