Met Eireann has released another update, as temperatures will drop to -2 ° C this week, with the possibility of more snow on the way.

Tonight will be cold, with scattered showers in the north and west with a few isolated showers inland.

Some rains can turn winter on higher ground, with some patches of ice and widespread frost as temperatures drop to between -2 and + 2 ° C.

It will become less cold in the morning as a moderate breeze develops from the northwest with rising clouds to the north.

Looking ahead, there will be erratic rains in the northeast of the country during the morning, with periods of sunshine and scattered rains elsewhere.

The rain will clear to showers in the northeast in the afternoon, and will become mostly dry and bright in the rest of Ireland.

It will be quite cold, with higher temperatures only 5 to 8 ° C, dropping to -2 ° C at night.

Wednesday will start dry, but the clouds will thicken from the west in the morning, with outbreaks of rain reaching the west coast by noon.

The rain will move across the country during the afternoon and evening, and at times it will become intense.

The highest temperatures will be 5 to 9 ° C.

On Wednesday night, outbreaks of rain will persist in Ulster and Leinster, with clearer conditions and scattered showers elsewhere. The lowest temperatures will be between 1 and 5 ° C, with light breezes.

Thursday looks cloudy and mostly dry to start, with rains coming from the west later in the day, sometimes heavy.

Afternoon temperatures will be around 6-10 ° C.

Regarding Friday and this weekend, Met Eireann says: “The additional perspective for next weekend is that the conditions remain quite unstable with rain at times.”
