I’M A Celebrity’s Vernon Kay has been revealed to be the ghost dribbler from the castle’s toilet, but he got undercover because he didn’t want the “fancy” wife Tess Daly to find out.
Onlookers had seen fellow campers trying to find out who had been urinating on the floor of the common bathroom, but were never told if they had gotten to the bottom of the matter.
At that point, all the boys distanced themselves from the nasty leak, and Vernon, 46, covered his tracks saying, “It’s a little awkward.
“How do you teach people over 25 to urinate?”
Now Shane Richie, 56, has exposed Vernon as the show’s phantom dribbler, claiming that the former Family Fortunes host begged his co-stars to keep it a secret because the Strictly Tess host wouldn’t approve of it.
Speaking during the Daily Drop, Shane revealed, “Let’s clear up a few things, okay? When that all started, the phantom dribber.
“He was sick. He couldn’t stand up. I remember Vernon, because he’s eight feet tall, he’s a tall boy and it’s a long way from him to go to the bathroom.
“He went to the bathroom and he came back and we said, ‘Vernon, have you dribbled?’ And he said ‘Oh, don’t’ because Tess is watching.
“Oh please don’t say anything.”
“And we had to cover it up because I was worried about what Tess would say. It was Vernon.
“Vernon kept saying ‘Oh Shane, don’t say anything,’ because Tess is watching and she’s on Strictly. She’s very classy, my wife.
“So Vernon, if you’re looking, it was you and you know it was you!”
Shane made the reveal after being accused of being the phantom dribbler by the hosts of I’m A Celebrity Ant and Dec.
Dec openly asked him during his exit interview on Thursday: “There are a couple of things we have to cover with you, who is the ‘phantom dribbler’? It’s you, right?”
Shane argued “Well, it can’t be me, can it?” and Dec joked, “It’s you.”
The actor then explained, “I promise it’s not me because every time they talked about it, I never stood up, I was sick that time.
“I was sitting in the bathroom all the time and they kept saying it was me, and I said it wasn’t me.”
