The first batch of Covid-19 vaccines shipped to Northern Ireland arrived yesterday, and vaccinations will start early next week.

The first people to receive the vaccine will be the vaccinators themselves, followed by residents and nursing home staff and health and social assistance workers.

Health Minister Robin Swann said the delivery of the vaccines was “very welcome.”

“Vaccination will be a huge logistical challenge in the long term. Our rate of progress will depend on the supplies available to be distributed as part of a program across the UK, ”he said.

Yesterday, six deaths and 449 cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in Northern Ireland.
