Giovanna Fletcher has been crowned Queen of the Castle in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

The 35-year-old podcast host was named the winner of the ITV competition after being among the two finalists along with radio DJ Jordan North.

TV host Vernon Kay was eliminated earlier in the series finale on Friday night.

After presenters Ant and Dec announced that he had won the competition, Fletcher said, “I can’t believe it, people literally took their phone and voted. I can not believe it.

“It was the most amazing experience.”

North said he “couldn’t have lost to anyone better.”

Addressing Fletcher, he added, “You totally deserve it.”

The final saw Kay face an endurance test in an attempt to win tickets for him and his fellow campers to enjoy during their final dinner.

He was chained to a table for 10 minutes while various creatures and rotten fruits and vegetables were placed on top of him.

After successfully completing the challenge, he called it “the most horrible thing I have ever done in my entire life.”

Fletcher underwent a test to secure the camp’s main dishes where he had to eat a fermented duck egg, a cow nose, a raw fish eye, a sheep testicle and a bull penis.

She managed to eat all the items that were put in front of her.

North took on the challenge of securing desserts for the group and was locked in a cage for 10 minutes with snakes.

He also completed his test, meaning the trio could eat the full complement of the courses on offer.

Friday’s finale ended the first I’m A Celebrity series to be filmed in the UK.

He was relocated from his usual base in Australia to Gwrych Castle near Abergele in North Wales due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Shane Richie narrowly missed being among the finalists after becoming the latest celebrity to be eliminated from camp before the series finale on Friday.

Athlete Sir Mo Farah, dancer AJ Pritchard, journalist Victoria Derbyshire, Paralympic athlete Hollie Arnold, classical singer Russell Watson, West End star Ruthie Henshall, and actresses Beverley Callard and Jessica Plummer also participated in the series.
