Woman (50 years old) dies in fatal road collision in Co Roscommon TheJournal.ie

A FATAL COLLISION that occurred this morning resulted in one death and three people were taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene of the traffic collision that took place in Co Roscommon around 8 a.m.

The collision involved three cars on the N5 at Stokestown between Scramogue Cross and Tarmonbarry.

A woman in her 50s, who was driving one of the vehicles, died. They took her for an autopsy.

A boy and a woman in their 40s were taken to Ballinasaloe Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Another woman in her 40s was taken to Tullamore Hospital. He also suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The road where the incident occurred is currently closed while forensic collision investigators conduct an examination.

Gardaí in Castlerea is calling for witnesses and road users to come forward with any camera footage traveling through the area at the time of the collision.
