Another yellow gale status warning has been issued for Cork this Friday morning, with another yellow wind status warning scheduled to hit inland areas later this afternoon.
Issued at 5am this morning, the gale advisory states that “North winds will increase to gale force 8 today, Friday, across all Irish coastal waters and in the Irish Sea, reaching a strong gale force 9 sometimes “.
This Friday morning will be very cold with widespread frosts and risk of icy stretches, although these will gradually clear around lunchtime, when temperatures will peak around 5 to 8 degrees in some places.
“There will be some bright or sunny spells, but also scattered showers,” Met Eireann said. “Some of the rains can be winter, especially on higher ground.”
The Status Yellow wind advisory will go into effect at 4 pm, when “the north-northwest winds will strengthen, with gusts of up to 100 km / h with a slight risk of coastal flooding.”
It will be windy tonight, with the yellow status warning in place overnight until 6am tomorrow, with good dry spells developing for a while and only a few scattered showers.
“Minimum temperatures of 3 to 5 degrees, with strong northwest winds, decreasing from cool to strong in the morning.”
