While 2020 has undoubtedly been one of the toughest years in recent memory, there is definitely a feeling that we are turning the corner and looking for good luck.
And that’s certainly already been shown to be the case for one lucky Irish gambler who was blown away this week by € 10 million in Wednesday night’s lottery draw.
Lottery bosses this week urged the player to come forward to claim his life-changing prize after they revealed the winning ticket was sold in Cork.
The € 10.7 million lottery jackpot is officially the 20th largest lottery jackpot in the history of the National Lottery.
A spokesperson for the National Lottery said they are still waiting for the lucky ticket holder to get in touch and hope to reveal the name and location of the winning store that sold the € 10.7 million lottery jackpot in the coming days.
While punters who missed out on this week’s staggering windfall may be dismayed, there is still plenty of excitement ahead for this week’s EuroMillions draw as the jackpot rises to an incredible record of € 200 million.
Lotto HQ also confirmed that the lucky Rebel County ticket holder, who has yet to communicate, purchased his winning Quick Pick ticket on Sunday, November 29.
This latest lottery win is the 11th jackpot win this year.
The current EuroMillions jackpot, which is expected to hit a record high, has been rolling since Friday October 30 and this is the first time that the jackpot could be subject to the new all-time high limit of € 200 million.
A single winner of the current EuroMillions jackpot will officially become the biggest lottery winner in Europe.
