Shoppers queued for miles in the cold last night as two Dublin Penneys stores stayed open for 24 hours for the first time.
The long lines of enthusiastic bargain fans braved the harsh winter cold at Blanchardstown Shopping Center and Dundrum Town Center and probably thought they would miss the crowds.
But they were confused when the incredibly long lines filtered through the entire mall in Blanchardstown and filled the parking lot in Dundrum.
A woman whose sister thought she could avoid the crowds at 9:00 p.m. M. told Dublin Live: “I think people thought it would be a bit quieter if they went up later, my sister was there at 9:00 PM and she said he was crazy.”
Many online commenters shared their shock at the scenes with some jokes “There’ll be shit left by the time it gets here!”
But others weren’t so impressed by the long lines and shared their dismay at seeing so many crowds just hours after the lifting of Level 5 restrictions in Ireland.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning there were queues across Dublin as people anxiously awaited Penneys’ reopening after six weeks of closure.
In some parts, the queues started at 4.30am as shoppers waited to update their collection of soft pajamas and socks.
