GARDAI is at the scene of a serious accident in Cork tonight.

The terror collision occurred on the N28 from Carrigaline to Cork City.

The road has been closed in both directions and will remain closed until tomorrow morning.

Forensic collision investigators are conducting an examination of the scene and local deviations have been established.

A travel update from AA Roadwatch read: “The N28 is now closed as emergency services continue to deal with a serious collision just off South Ring Rd approaching Rochestown Rd.

Gardai said: “Tonight’s serious RTC and the N28 from Carrigaline to Cork City are currently closed in both directions to facilitate forensic collision investigators.”

“The highway will be closed until the wee hours of the morning and there will be local detours.”
