There have been almost 72,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Republic and more than 2,000 people have died, official figures show.
On Sunday there were two more Covid-19-related deaths in the state and 299 additional cases.
There are currently 257 patients hospitalized with the virus, 30 of them in intensive care units.
The positivity rate among people tested for Covid-19 is now 2.7 percent. The World Health Organization recommends that the rate stay below 5 percent for at least two weeks before public health measures are relaxed.
Almost 72,000 tests have been carried out in the Republic during the last seven days.
The national incidence rate of the disease in 14 days is 92.3 cases per 100,000 people, one of the lowest in Europe.
Donegal is the county with the highest incidence rate with 219.9 cases per 100,000, slightly more than in recent days. Leitrim has the lowest rate, with 21.8 cases.
In Europe, only Iceland has a lower incidence rate than Ireland, according to the European Center for Disease Control.
North Ireland
The Causeway Coast and Glens Borough is the worst affected area in the north, with an incidence rate of 439.5 cases per 100,000 residents over the past 14 days.
The next highest rate is found in the Mid Ulster area, with 414.1 cases per 100,000.
On Sunday, another 351 people tested positive for Covid-19 in Northern Ireland and three more deaths were reported, according to the region’s Health Department.
