Met Eireann issued a yellow fog status warning for all Munster, Connacht and Leinster counties tonight.
The warning was issued at 3pm today with thick fog expected throughout the afternoon and into the night.
Foggy conditions have already been reported across the county in Limerick, Tipperary, Laois and Offaly among the worst hit.
The warning is in effect from 3pm this afternoon until 6am tomorrow morning, so be careful if you are on the roads tonight or in the early hours of the morning.
The AA also advises drivers to slow down in the worst-hit areas, to use their fog lights when necessary, and to turn them off when they are no longer needed.
