Sinn Féin closes the gap in Fine Gael with the highest result in history in an opinion poll

SINN FÉIN HAS narrowed the gap at Fine Gael over the past month, according to the latest Business Post / Red C opinion poll.

The poll has put support for the party at 30%, a three-point increase from the newspaper’s last poll in September, and its highest Business Post result to date.

Fine Gael continues to top the poll at 33%, but that number has dropped four points since the September poll.

Fianna Fáil is at 12%, one point up, while her coalition partners, the Green Party, are at 5%, one point down.

Independents remain at 8%, unchanged since the last poll, while Social Democrats are up one point to 4%.

Labor is also unchanged at 3%, but support for Solidarity-People Before Profit has caught up with them after rising one point from the last survey to 3%. Support for Aontú remains at 2%.

The survey was conducted online among 1,000 people between November 19 and 25, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3%.
