Thousands of Vodafone customers were pulled by their hair tonight when the telecommunications giant suffered lengthy interruptions in its services.

On Twitter, Vodafone admitted “experiencing outages in some of our data services.”

A spokesperson added that the company’s technical teams were “working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.”

Many Vodafone customers were frustrated tonight amid reports of internet outages and problems with phone lines.

On Twitter, one wrote that his Friday night was “basically on hiatus” as a result of the problems, among a large number of complaints from members of the public.

Many were furious given that today is the night of the Late Late Toy Show and Black Friday, when many rely on the fast internet for great deals on products online.

An affected customer said that he could not reach a Vodafone helpline by phone and wrote that the situation was “ridiculous”.

One said they were waiting more than two hours before the internet was restored.
