Several Twitter users have complained about the RTE Player tonight.

The Late Late Toy Show is currently live, and viewed by many through the national broadcaster’s streaming service.

But many people are experiencing technical problems and have taken to social media to describe the problems.

One user said, “Come on RTE player, don’t do this to me now.”

Prior to tonight’s show, Irish Mirror contacted RTE to see if any additional improvements, resources and man hours have been allocated to the digital team working on RTE Player to provide the best possible experience.

A spokesperson for RTE said: “There have been incremental improvements to the RTÉ Player website and apps throughout 2020 to ensure that our audience, anywhere in the world, has the best experience.

“A multidisciplinary team will work on Friday night to offer the live broadcast of RTÉ One’s Late Late Toy Show and RTÉ News’s Irish Sign Language Late Late Toy Show, as well as clips of the night’s best moments and highlights. “.

Aside from this, RTE also provided additional technical information to ensure that those who watch the show through the RTE player can do so with minimal interruptions.

For starters, The Late Late Toy Show is available to stream live and on demand for free around the world. Viewers will need a minimum 5MBps internet connection and a computer, mobile device, or TV that is compatible with your service.

The broadcaster has also listed the following additional steps:

  • Make sure you have the latest version of the RTÉ Player app on your smartphone
  • If your Android device and application are up-to-date and your connection is working properly, but you have problems, you may need to try resetting the application on your device. You can reset the app on your device, by going through Settings> Applications> App List. Select RTÉ Player> Storage and select Clear cache and Clear data.
