Feargal Logan aims to hit the “high notes” with Tyrone as he and Brian Dooher begin life as the new senior soccer management team.

The duo were ratified by the county board on Wednesday night and take over after the end of Mickey Harte’s 18 years as coach, who won three Irish titles between 2003 and 2008.

Logan led Tyrone’s winning All-Ireland U21 team in 2015, when Dooher was a member of his backroom team.

Speaking to RTÉ Sport alongside Dooher as the two former All-Ireland winners prepare for a new chapter for Tyrone, Logan described his enthusiasm for taking over.

“It feels like a privilege,” Logan told Marty Morrissey.

“Brian and I will work hard because with that privilege comes a little fear that you can deliver what we hope for in Tyrone and move the GAA and football forward in Tyrone for the next time.”

Logan added that they are “realistic about the challenge ahead” but are “hopeful that they can progress and hit the high notes.”

Dooher echoed those sentiments about the challenges that will come early in his tenure.

“We have no illusions about the challenges we face here. These are quite uncertain times right now and they won’t make it any easier, but we are definitely looking forward to it,” he said.

“As Feargal said, it is a privilege and an honor to be asked to do this job.”
