Gardai increases Dublin city area after man assaults guards in known business robbery

A man has been arrested following the robbery of a business premises on Moore Street in Dublin yesterday.

On Wednesday morning, a man broke into a local store and walked away with a series of items that he did not pay for.

The man threatened and later assaulted security guards who tried to arrest him during the robbery.

No one was injured during the incident, but the man was later arrested and taken to Store Street Garda Station, where officers questioned him for hours.

A Garda spokesperson has since confirmed that the man has been charged in connection with the crime.

He said: “The man was arrested by Gardaí and taken to Store Street Garda Station, where he was detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.”

He added: “Since then he has been charged in connection with the crime and must appear before the Criminal Justice Courts.”
