Locally named mother of two killed in tragic Louth accident

The woman who died in a horrible car accident in Louth was locally named Sarah Larkin.

The mother of two, in her 30s, was killed Saturday night when her Audi was involved in an accident on the N2 near her home in Ardee.

The locals were left in shock after the sad accident with Sarah leaving behind two young children.

Councilor Pearse McGeough paid tribute to the young woman and offered his condolences to the family.

Sinn Fein Councilor told the Irish Mirror: “I just want to pay tribute to the young woman who has passed away and offer my condolences to the family after the terrible news.

“Naturally the community is shocked and it is a horrible thing to happen.

“Today is a sad day for the Larkin family. My thoughts are with them.”

Online social media posts have also paid tribute to the “beautiful” young woman who was a well-known member of the community.

The funeral arrangements have not yet been made public.

Gardai is continuing his investigation into the unique car accident and is asking for witnesses to appear.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí is calling for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Gardaí is also calling for any road user who may have camera footage (including dash cam) that They were traveling in the area at the time of making this footage available to Gardaí.

“Gardaí is also appealing to the occupants of a white car traveling from Carrickmacross to Ardee at approximately 8:50 pm to contact the Gardaí.”
