Saturday night will see temperatures drop, and patches of frost will develop in some parts of the country as well.

Hourly wind, temperature and rainfall are forecast for the period now through noon on Monday.

Sunday morning will be below zero across the country and will approach -5 ° C in the northwest of the country.

Frost is expected to form in some protected areas Sunday morning.

The afternoon highs will range from 9-12 ° C, but will get colder as the afternoon progresses with moderate to cool winds from the west.

The forecaster continued in Met.ie: “Sunday will be cool and bright in most areas with spell sunshine and scattered rain, mainly in the western half of the country.

“It will be mostly cloudy in the southern coastal counties with a little patchy rain or drizzle in coastal areas. Highest temperatures 6 to 9 degrees with moderate breezes from west to southwest.

“Sunday night will be mostly dry, although there may be one or two coastal showers. It will be cold with low temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees and a touch of frost in some places, mainly in the eastern half of the country.”
