Galway looks better to me than Tipperary but let’s face it, they looked better than Kilkenny too.
Of all the blue-blooded counties, Tipperary is the one where Galway has the best memories of his beating.
When they have been good this season they have been very good.
When Tipperary has been good, it has been less than the sum of its parts.
Galway to win this, but don’t put the house on it.
Clare v Waterford, O’Keeffe Park, 3.45 pm
Two executives who seem to get more out of it than expected.
Clare will be encouraged by the return of Captain David McInerney from suspension.
It is said that Aron Shanagher may not recover from a hamstring injury in time for this weekend.
In the absence of so many marquee forwards, Brian Lohan has relied on Tony Kelly for a number of outstanding performances.
It’s fair to assume that Liam Cahill has caught on and will take steps to escort the Ballyea man to lower levels this weekend.
Easier said than done, but if Waterford can do that, make sure while hunting Kelly that they don’t lose sight of Shane O’Donnell’s ability to be the winner of the match and squeeze a full turn from some of their own attackers, They will be the ones preparing for an all-Ireland semi-final.

NICKY RACKARD CUP FINAL
Donegal v May, Croke Park, 1.30pm
Both Donegal and Mayo reach this final after big victories in the semifinal stage.
Donegal is going for a third title in this competition, but I hope that Mayo, through players like top scorer Shane Boland and Cathal Freeman, will push them beyond the line.
CHRISTY RING CUP FINAL
Down against Kildare, Croke Park, 4:00 pm
This title has an additional meaning, being the centenary of the birth of the great.
Down was the story of last weekend when Offaly was knocked out after the first penalty shootout of the inter-county hurling championship.
However, they were worth their victory to the full, as Offaly had to fight two final points in extra time.
This is a very close decision, with Kildare looking to add to his 2014 and ’18 titles, but I hope Ronan Sheehan’s Down has learned from his defeat in last year’s decider and I give them the thumbs up.
