Good news for the children of Ireland: a homework day has been issued for all pupils in the country!
Education Minister Norma Foley has announced a no homework day for all students without getting into trouble.
All children and young people in Ireland are given the afternoon duty-free for working so hard at school during the pandemic.
Between now and Christmas, teachers across the country can choose a day for their students to have an afternoon free from homework.
The announcement of the Minister of Education will be shown tomorrow in the After School Hub of RTÉ.
In an interview with Seamus the Dog, Foley says: It’s a golden ticket and this is how it’s going to work.
“All the students I know have been really good and have worked really hard since they went back to school.
“Their teacher will decide which day the children can use it between now and Christmas.
“The children and young people of Ireland have been simply fantastic. We are very, very proud of them and this is a thank you ”.
The homework pass will be available for download from RTE.ie/learn starting tomorrow afternoon.
On the show, which airs Friday at 3.20 pm, Ms. Foley invites elementary school children to submit photos to the Department of Education so she can hang them on her office easel.
Kids can take this photo the night they wear their homework pass, and everyone who submits one will receive a certificate from the Minister of Education.
Led by teachers Ray, John, Cliona, and Emer, The After School Hub was a program that began during the pandemic to help children while they were out of school.
Now, it gives parents an extra hour to keep their children entertained, as many continue to work from home while taking care of their children.
