40-year-old man who tragically died in Callan, locally named Kilkenny road accident

A man who tragically died after a fatal car accident in Kilkenny has been named locally.

James Cody, in his 40s, was tragically killed in the single-vehicle accident that occurred early Tuesday morning.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on the N76 in Killamery, Callan, Co Kilkenny around 11am.

James of Hillcrest, Sion Road was sadly pronounced dead at the scene before being taken to Waterford Regional Hospital.

An ad on RIP.ie says that James passed away “unexpectedly, after a tragic accident, James Jr., sadly missed by his heartbroken family, his partner Emma and their little daughter Jane, parents Jimmy and Oonagh, sisters Sheilagh and Vicky -law Kevin’s brother, nephew Zach, nieces Jenny and Ali, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, neighbors and a wide circle of friends.

“May James rest in peace.”

Gardai has appealed to anyone with information related to this collision to come forward. Gardaí is particularly attractive to road users who were traveling in the Callan area between 10.30am and 11.30am, and who may have dash cam footage to make available to Gardaí.
