5 new COVID-19 deaths reported today, 456 additional cases reported

Statement from the Health Protection Surveillance Center:

The Center for Health Protection Surveillance has been notified today of 5 additional deaths related to COVID-19. All of the deaths reported today occurred in November.

There have been a total of 1,984 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.

As of midnight Sunday, November 15, 456 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported to the HPSC. There are now a total of 68,356 * confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ireland.

Of the cases reported today;

• 199 are men / 257 are women
• 69% are under 45 years old
• The average age is 34 years.
• 105 in Dublin, 85 in Limerick, 43 in Cork, 38 in Meath, 25 in Clare and the remaining 160 cases are spread over 21 other counties.

As of 2:00 p.m. today, 274 patients with COVID-19 are hospitalized, of which 33 are in the ICU. 10 additional hospitalizations in the last 24 hours.

* Data validation at the HPSC has resulted in the denotification of 3 confirmed cases. The figure of 68,356 confirmed cases reflects this.
