Liverpool star Joe Gomez has reportedly “suffered a serious injury” adding to Jurgen Klopp’s defensive woes.
Gomez, who has become Klopp’s first-choice defender in the absence of Virgil van Dijk, suffered the blow while on international service with England.

The Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate is expected to confirm the extent of the injury later, and Liverpool are said to be concerned Gomez will be out for a ‘long period’, according to the Daily star.
Klopp will no longer be able to count on Virgil van Dijk for most of the season after surgery following a cruciate ligament injury in his knee.
Gomez was teammates with Fabinho before he, too, was injured and has since played alongside Rhys Williams, Nat Phillips and Joel Matip.
Gomez’s injury will leave Matip the only senior center-back in the Liverpool squad.
This will not have helped Klopp’s mood after the German boss, along with many high-profile managers, questioned the tight match roster and the number of muscle injuries that resulted.
