Dublin Weather: Eireann’s two ‘dangerous’ warnings were met as winter storm hits Ireland twice

Thunderstorms and hail will shake Dublin on Fridays and Sundays as the weather takes a drastic turn this week.

Today it will be wet and windy and the rain for much of the day will get heavy at times.

It will be cool and gusty with temperatures of 13 ° C dropping to 4 ° C and remain largely dry overnight.

Elsewhere there are two yellow rain status warnings for Galway, Mayo, Cork, Kerry and Waterford until 6pm and Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Tipperary until 5pm

Throughout this period, there will be flooding in some places, reduced visibility, and dangerous driving conditions.

morning : “Mostly dry on Thursday with good periods of sunshine. Clouds will pick up later in the afternoon before rain moves in from the west overnight. Higher temperatures of 11 or 12 degrees in cool, gusty south winds, strong on the shores. ”

Friday : “The rain will clear the east early in the morning and showers with sunny spells will develop throughout the country. The rains will be strong and stormy, more frequent in the west and northwest with risks of hail and isolated thunderstorms. Higher temperatures 9-12 degrees with moderate to cool, gusty winds from the southwest that recede to the south and decrease overnight as the rains become more isolated. ”

Saturday : “Another strip of rain will move from the Atlantic first thing in the morning, moving eastward and becoming more irregular as it moves. It will be followed by rains and sunshine, more frequent in the western half of the country. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees, dropping to 5 to 8 degrees at night. Moderate to cool winds from the southwest will be strong off the coasts at times. ”

Sunday : “A windy day with cool to strong, gusty winds from west to southwest. Widespread rains will bring hazards of hail and isolated thunderstorms. Highest temperatures 9-13 degrees.”
