2 new COVID-19 deaths reported today, 542 additional cases reported

Statement from the Health Protection Surveillance Center:

The Center for Health Protection Surveillance has been notified today of 2 additional COVID-19 related deaths.

There have now been a total of 1,947 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.

Starting at midnight on Saturday 7^th In November, the HPSC was notified of 542 confirmed cases of COVID-19. There are now a total of 65,394 * confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ireland.

Of the cases reported today;

• 277 are men / 264 are women
• 64% are under 45
• The average age is 35 years.
• 181 in Dublin, 59 in Donegal, 50 in Limerick, 36 in Cork, 25 in Kildare, and the remaining 191 cases are spread across 20 other counties.

As of 2:00 p.m. today, 283 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 39 are in the ICU. 13 additional hospitalizations in the last 24 hours.

* Data validation at the HPSC has resulted in the denotification of 3 confirmed cases. The figure of 65,394 confirmed cases reflects this.
