The Northern Ireland health minister has urged the Irish government to introduce quarantine rules similar to those in the UK for visitors to Denmark.
The British government has banned all non-British citizens from coming from Denmark due to concerns about a new strain of Covid-19 that has spread from mink to humans.
British citizens returning from Denmark, and all members of their household, must isolate themselves for 14 days from the date they left the country.
The Stormont Executive has introduced a similar quarantine period for anyone who has traveled from Denmark since October 23.
There are no direct flights between Northern Ireland and Denmark, so visitors and returning tourists travel via Dublin Airport or the airports in Scotland, Wales or England.
A flight from Copenhagen was to land in Dublin tonight.
At present, travelers from Denmark are allowed entry to the Republic of Ireland on the condition that they restrict their movements for 14 days.
