Gardaí in Tipperary issued an appeal to reunite three allegedly stolen dogs with their owners.
They believe the dogs were stolen from their homes after they were found in a car yesterday.
The dogs were recovered by Carrick-on-Suir detectives after they saw three men loading them into the trunk of a car before speeding away.
The car stopped approximately 25 km away in Clerihan, on the outskirts of Clonmel.
When the three men in the car were unable to provide documentation for the dogs, the gardaí was not satisfied that they owned the dogs.
The animals were seized and taken to a veterinarian for examination, where it was discovered that the dogs were not microchipped.
Gardaí is caring for the three dogs and anyone who believes they may be the owner of one or more of them should contact the Clonmel Garda station at 052 6177640.
