The funeral of murdered mother and children takes place in Dublin

There has been the funeral of a woman and her two children who were found dead in their home in Dublin.

The bodies of Seema Banu, 37, and her daughter Asfira Syed, 11, and her son Faizan Syed, 6, were found in south Dublin last week.

Gardaí has ​​launched a murder investigation into their deaths.

The scene at Llywellen Court, Ballinteer, was sealed for a few days while investigators searched the area.

Prayers were said for the mother and two children at the Irish Islamic Cultural Center in Clonskeagh.

The three coffins sat side by side in the center while Imam Hussein Halawa said a series of prayers before his burial.

The bodies were taken to the Newcastle Cemetery where they were buried.

Ongoing investigation

Gardaí said details of the autopsy results were not being released for operational reasons.

Concerned neighbors had raised the alarm before noon on Wednesday, October 28, and Gardaí made the grim discovery when they reached the scene.

Gardaí urged the public not to spread misinformed information in public, saying it does not help the investigation.

Dozens of locals held a candlelight vigil outside the family’s home hours after their bodies were found.
