The mother and her two children who were found dead in a house in Rathfarnham last week will be buried in Dublin this afternoon.
Seema Banu, 37, her 11-year-old daughter Asfira Syed and her six-year-old son Faizan Syed will be interred in the Muslim burial section of Newcastle Cemetery in South Dublin.
Last week, Ms Banu’s family had told RTÉ News that they wanted the bodies of their loved ones returned to India, but in a statement last night they said they were happy that the authorities here were handling the funeral. .
The final rituals on the bodies of the mother and two sons will take place at the Islamic Cultural Center complex in Clonskeagh.
Prayers will also be said before the bodies are brought to Newcastle Cemetery for burial.
It is understood that the Indian Ambassador to Ireland and some family contacts in India will attend the ceremony.
The murder investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the mother and her two children continues.
Their bodies were discovered at the Llewellyn Court house in Rathfarnham on October 28.
Post-mortem examinations established the cause of their deaths as strangulation.
Gardaí is satisfied that the two children were killed, but they have yet to establish how Ms Banu suffered her fatal injuries and who was responsible for the deaths of the three.
